Donald Hubert Stice, 69, of Kinderhook, IL died Monday, October 26th at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. He was born near Winchester, IL on June 16, 1940 to William Clyde and Ona Lee Hoots Stice. He married Rozilla Hoskins in Winchester, IL on August 25, 1959 and she survives.
Donald was a pipefitter and worked out of the Local 562 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union at St. Louis. He worked from the union shop for over 30 years in 3 states before retiring in 1997. Mr. Stice was also a hobby farmer, working with his brother Kenneth on their farm near Baylis, IL. He also enjoyed Country and Western music and stock car races. Donald donated his corneas after his death to help others keep their sight.
Survivors include his wife Rozilla, 2 sons, William Anthony “Tony” (wife Renee) Stice of Mahtomedi, Minnesota and Donald Wayne Stice of Barry. A daughter, Ona Gayle Stice of Barry survives along with a brother, Kenneth Stice of Jacksonville, IL. Donald is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle and Dalton Stice. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Scott County, IL at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2009. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL on Saturday prior to the services. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
