Joyce Ellen McDowell Denison, 64, of St. Charles, MO and formerly of Pittsfield passed away August 22, 2009 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law Chad and Cathy Denison.

Joyce was born October 26, 1945 to Vaughn and Clara McDowell.  She married Billy Gene Denison March 25, 1968 and he preceded her in death.

She graduated from John Wood Community College in 1995 earning a LPN certification.  Surviving is her son and wife, Chad and Cathy, two granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey Denison of St. Charles, MO.  Three sisters, Catherine Parker, Dorothy Willis and Janice Welch also survive along with a special friend Don Terrell, and a sister-in-law, Beth (Leonard) Wade of Pittsfield.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Vaughn McDowell, Jr., one sister, Rita Biven and two sons, Rodney Wyckoff Jr. and Vinton Denison.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Peg Ratliff officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the services.

Family suggests that memorials be made to the Granddaughters College Fund.
