Goldie M. DeJaynes, 88 of Baylis,Il., died Monday May 4, 2009 at her home in Baylis, IL.
Born July 15, 1920 in Maywood, MO she was a daughter of Theodore and Maudie Masterson Sisk. She married Hershall DeJaynes Dec. 23, 1937 at Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death May 22, 2001.
Goldie was a member of the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church and worked for Webel Feeds for 27 years in the maintenance department. She was an Elvis Presley fan and also enjoyed refurnishing furniture, going to yard sales, auctions, community festivals and demolition derby’s. Goldie greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and with her grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs Caroline (Delbert) Rennecker, New Salem, IL, and five sons, Wayne of Milton, Russell of Pearl, Marvin, Billy and Hershal Albert of Baylis. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren along with one brother, Buddy Sisk of Baylis and one sister, Dorothy Elliston, of Barry.
A son, David DeJaynes, two grandsons, Brian and Anthony Roy DeJaynes, one sister, Rita Miller, and three brothers, Roy, Wesley and Kenneth Sisk, preceded Goldie in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Quintin Beard officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsfield West Cemetery.
Friends may call at Niebur Funeral Home Thursday, May 7 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Family requests memorials to be made to the Blessing Hospice of Pike County.
