EUGENE  C.  BROWNING, 82 of rural Pittsfield, IL., died Saturday (5/2/09) at his home in rural Pittsfield.

He was born July 3,1926 in St. Louis, MO., a son of Irvin R. and Viola Durbeck Browning. He married Doris Morrow March 23, 1945 in Little Rock, AR. and she survives. Gene was a veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan. He was a longtime grain and livestock farmer and a school bus driver for over 33 years for Pikeland Unit #10. Gene was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in Pittsfield.

Survivors: wife Doris, one daughter Mrs. Cheryl Peck of Quincy, IL., a granddaughter Mrs. Amy (Josh) Whitmarsh of DesMoines, IA, and a great granddaughter Hailey, two sisters: Virginia Tobin of Quincy, IL. and Pat Ballowe of St. Louis, MO., two nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. John Ruzich and Rev. Ronald Baker officiating. Burial will be at Pittsfield West Cemetery with military rites accorded by Pittsfield American Legion Post # 152.

Friends may call at the Niebur Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 till 8 p.m.
