Lloyd Miller, 73 of Detroit, IL died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his residence in Detroit.
Lloyd was born August 30, 1935 in Pleasant Hill, IL., a son of William I. and Mary Ellen Lee Miller. He married Lois Reel Pennock May 21, 1983 at the Detroit Methodist Church.
He attended Prairie Mound grade school and was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School in 1955. Loyd was a custodian and did maintenance work at Pittsfield Elementery South School, Pillsbury Elevator at Florence, IL and was a farm hand for Terry Rush of Detroit. He was a member of the Detroit United Methodist Church, and enjoyed bowling, attending country music shows, vacations, and photography. His constant companions were his pet dogs, Tiny Tim and Tiny Babe.
Survivors include his wife Lois, three sons: Roger (Brenda) Pennock, Gary Pennock, Jerry (Wanda) Pennock all of Detroit and two daughters, Mrs Marcia (Kay) Dehart, Pittsfield, IL., and Mrs Nancy (Dick) Lomelino, Detroit, IL. Also surviving two brothers and three sisters: Wayne Miller of Quincy, IL., Gerald (Ruth Ann) Miller of Jacksonville, IL., Loretta Hartsock, Pleasant Hill, IL., Betty Owens, Osage Beach, MO., and Virginia Martin, Pittsfield, IL. also survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, Fred, and Oral Miller, one sister, Geretta Slamp and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at the Detroit United Methodist Church with Rev. David Kelly and Peg Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the Blue River Cemetery at Detroit, IL.
Friends may call at the Niebur Funeral Home Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. The family suggests memorials to be made to the Detroit United Methodist Church or to the Pike County Animal Shelter.
